Transform Logistics into a Human Experience

As part of United Natural Foods, Inc.’s larger industrial campus, OneFourTwo was tasked with designing a series of amenity spaces that would elevate the employee experience within a state-of-the-art food distribution and logistics center. The spaces needed to reflect UNFI's California farming heritage while supporting wellness, sustainability, and intuitive wayfinding across the expansive facility.

Designed Amenities Inspired by the Seasons

In collaboration with NORR, OneFourTwo developed a design concept rooted in UNFI's agricultural origins, assigning each building a seasonal identity to guide the material palette, color strategy, and wayfinding throughout the campus. Farmhouse-inspired truss structures introduced warmth and scale while supporting decorative lighting, suspended greenery, and acoustic baffles. Natural daylight, sustainable materials, and wellness-focused design principles created inviting spaces that balance industrial performance with a comfortable, human-centered environment.

A Workplace That Reflects Brand and Purpose

The completed amenity spaces transform the distribution center into more than a logistics facility - they create places for employees to gather, recharge, and connect. The cohesive seasonal identity strengthens navigation across the campus while reinforcing UNFI's brand story, contributing to a LEED Gold-certified workplace that supports both sustainability and employee well-being.
